We hosted an extra special Christmas experience for 13 orphan children visiting Ireland from Moldova in December. The trip organised by the marvelous Dr. Suzie O’ Connell saw kids ranging in ages leave the orphanage and their country for the first time! The organisation of moving the group was planned to the minute detail by Dr. Suzie, starting with needing suitcases to the airline tickets!
We stood outside our office waving to welcome their arrival and watched the minibus as it pulled up outside, seeing all their faces looking out, taking it in.
It was a super day – Santa and his elves had a shoe box and presents for all the children (and more for them to take back home to the other children in the orphanage) a beauty corner for hair and make up, the wonderful magician Ruairi O Connor entertained the group for hours. After lunch out came the karaoke and we were entertained by songs from the children. The time together was priceless, so much fun and laughter was had.
