Life Style Sports Run in the Dark 2014 is organised by the Mark Pollack Trust who believe that “the cure for spinal cord injuries simply requires enough of the right people having the will to make it happen”. Led by Mark Pollack and Piers White the Mark Pollack Trust fund their mission through many fundraising activities including “Run In the Dark”.
FMI are proud to support Mark & and his team raise awareness of the “Run In the Dark”. Nicola de Beer, COO FMI said, “we met Mark in 2012 when he came to speak as a motivational speaker to our sales team here at FMI, he inspired us so much that we offered to help in anyway we could”.
2013 proved to be the perfect opportunity as we had just launched our Contact Centre and we were in a perfect position to help drive awareness for the Run in the Dark. In 2013 we made over 1,300 calls to past participants and achieved an 80% positive response rate from those contacted to take part.
Following on from the success of our 2013 campaign FMI committed to our continued support. In October 2014 the FMI Contact Centre started the process of making over 2,700 calls to people in Belfast, Manchester and London to raise awareness of the upcoming Run In the Dark Events. FMI Contact Centre had an overwhelming positive response rate from all three cities.
Obviously we were delighted with our contribution to the Mark Pollock Trust but not to stop there on Wednesday evening 12th November we joined over 7,500 others in Dublin, proudly putting on our running shoes and flashing red armbands and headed out to take part in the Dublin & Cork Run In the Dark.
Some of us were happy to finish 5k however those a little bit more competitive amongst us (Robert Magee) ensured a top 100 finish for 10k with a time of 41mins – well done Rob and all at FMI for helping to support Mark Pollock on the phone and or running and some walking!!
