The annual Fighting Blindness Sporting Gala Dinner took place on Saturday 31st January in the Conrad Hotel Dublin. Fighting Blindness represents the voice of 224,000 people affected by sight loss in Ireland.

Fighting Blindness is an Irish, patient led organisation funding research into treatments and cures for blindness. Fighting Blindness was established in 1983 with a group of families affected by blindness coming together for support.

Nicola de Beer, COO at FMI was delighted to be in attendance and to support this worthy charity. The gala kicks off the charity’s fundraising activities for the year and brings legends from rugby and horse racing together to discuss their expertise on the upcoming sports season. It was also an ideal opportunity for Fighting Blindness to thank its loyal supporters and valued members for their on-going support.

Broadcaster Ivan Yates was on hand to interview the sporting legends and encourage guests to participate in the silent auction.

The night was a super success thanks to the organisers at Fighting Blindness. To find out more log onto www.fightingblindness.ie
